Hosted by Lloyd Keaser Community Center and ENOUGH Council
Completion: June 2026

Commissioned by the Gun Violence Prevention Division of the Anne Arundel County Health Department, this community-driven mural in Pumphrey reflects the power of public art to foster belonging, healing, and collective responsibility.

Designed and led by Baltimore-based mural artist Catherine Mapp, the project brings together local residents to collaboratively beautify their neighborhood while creating space for dialogue, visibility, and shared ownership. Through a vibrant, accessible visual language, the mural transforms the Lloyd Keaser Community Center site into a landmark of connection and civic pride.

Rooted in themes of safety, resilience, and community care, this public health mural demonstrates how arts-based placemaking can strengthen neighborhood bonds while supporting broader violence prevention initiatives.

Catherine Mapp specializes in community-engaged murals for municipalities, health departments, schools, and cultural institutions across Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.
